I am MD of Souter PR and have been delivering planned and sustained PR campaigns for 30 years this year. Which makes me a ‘veteran’ according to the Manchester Evg News! Before that I was a national magazine journalist, and my passion for story-telling remains undiminished.
My approach to putting trade and consumer PR programmes together comes from a fascination with ‘news’ and how well and far it can be expressed – on and offline.
I love living and working in the North West and have worked on many campaigns in the region. I know the area well. I am well versed in marrying commercial and media objectives and enthusing others behind a campaign – delivering it on time and on budget.
I have worked with some great marketeers and management teams over three decades. I still love the buzz and demands of the job and seeing the positive effects on the bottom line.
Golf, hosting posh dinner parties, keeping track of two 20-something daughters and globe-trotting with my husband of 30 years keep me busy out of hours.

My role is somewhat behind-the-scenes at Souters, but as I remind my colleagues, it’s a key job at the agency!
Much of what I do is related to the running of the business – a job I have held since we became a limited company in 2002. I am especially involved in the all-important financials, but I also write a blog or two as well and I get involved in local networking groups and in our own recruitment. I’m in charge of managing our office accommodation, making sure we toe the health and safety line and everyone feels safe and comfortable in our space.
This business is so much about people. Over the years we have built a resource of great suppliers who have become ‘our partners’. We pride ourselves on excellent relationships with them, and we all work together on coming up with creative, effective PR and digital campaigns to help grow our clients’ businesses.
I’m rather partial to a glass of red wine, a pub quiz, a round of golf or watching United in yet another nail-biter.

During a career spanning over 20 years, I have enjoyed working for several leading agencies and many blue-chip clients including Eurocamp, Aga Rangemaster, Roberts bakery, Falcon Foodservice Equipment, Peugeot UK, Meridian Foods, Rotary Watches, The Saucy Fish Co, Marley Eternit, Wickes and Transport for Greater Manchester, to name but a few.
I am an expert in creating, implementing and evaluating PR and digital communications campaigns for both B2B and consumer brands. With extensive experience of PR, social media, event management and influencer marketing, I offer creative yet effective solutions to clients of all shapes and sizes.
With over two decades’ story-telling and headlines under my belt it’s hard to pick a favourite career highlight. However amongst the most memorable is sourcing a mermaid and cajoling four rowers to slip into client-branded trunks on the banks of the Thames for a stunt at the Henley Royal Regatta – all in the name of national news coverage. Hosting the North West’s first ever Sky High Tea – as part of Roberts bakery’s 2017 rebrand campaign – was another of my best bits to date.
When not doing ‘PR things,’ I am a keen runner, avid reader, Sauvignon-lover and mum of three.
